What is “In you we trust” about? The story follows our main protagonist, Lila, a forest Ranger who steps forward to try and catch the criminals responsible for murder in her small town. The film takes visual inspiration from movies and TV shows such as “No Country for Old Men”, “Wind River”, “Breaking Bad”, and my all time favorite film, “Beast of No Nation”. The film is a character driven Script as we also follow Lila’s conflicted relationships and her internal fight as she struggles with drug use to drown the pain away.

 

This project is not only a challenge for me, but also for the film department. My goal is to make it straight into the industry after high school. This movie will push me towards that goal.  19 year old filmmakers do not usually walk into a job with a feature already attached to them. In addition, this feature is a fantastic opportunity for the film department. As it will showcase the many students work on the film, and demonstrate how the Idyllwild arts film department is one to be recognized. The script has already been written and analyzed.

 

I consider myself to be a very visual person. I am able to connect more to image and always struggle with text. That is why I choose filmmaking. It allows me to express myself visually.  I will be the cinematographer as well as the Director in this piece, so I will be able to fully tell the story that I attended to. This project is a challenging one, but I am confident that with the help of my fellow filmmakers, we will be able to create the first feature film to come out of Idyllwild arts academy.
